Riverside Park Shelter Rental
Riverside Park is a lovely place to hold your next event. Our shelter can be used for birthday parties, graduation and ball team parties, reunions, bridal and baby showers, club meetings, church activities, family cookouts and more! The 40 x 45 shelter is located at the east end of the park with a beautiful view of Deep River. Amenities include power, overhead lights, picnic tables, basic charcoal grills, trash cans, and use of the two bathrooms. The playground and swings are adjacent to the shelter to make it easy to keep an eye on the kiddos.
Nearby is a ballfield that can be used for softball, baseball, kickball, wiffle ball, etc. You can also set up your own yard games and volleyball or badminton net. Fishing is allowed on Deep River; however, you must have a fishing license. Riverside Park east is one of the trail heads for the Deep River Rail Trail, where you can stroll by the banks of the Deep River and enjoy the natural beauty around you. The footbridge that leads to the Faith Rock Trails is located at the west end of the park. It is a good hike up there, but the view from the top of Faith Rock is worth it!
The shelter is rented by the day for $45.00. Payment can be made with cash or by credit/debit card. To check the availability for the date that you desire, please call 336-824-2604 or come by the Franklinville Town Hall. There is a three-day hold limit on reserved dates with no fee payment and unsigned rental form. After three days, the date will become available for shelter rental again.
Weekends book quickly, so please set your date early!
Checklist:
• Alcoholic Beverages are NOT allowed.
• Please do not write or draw on the walls, tables, or floor of the shelter, etc.
• Party Poppers (confetti) are prohibited.
• Bounce houses are not permitted.
Before You Leave:
• Make sure all lights are off, and both bathrooms are clean and locked before you leave.
•Remove all decorations, and materials used to install them. (strings, cords, tape, etc.)
•Please pick up remaining pieces of popped balloons.
•Pick up all food, cigarette butts and trash, from the shelter and surrounding area, and place in the trash cans provided. Clean up any spilled drinks to prevent ants.
•Trash will be removed by our Public Works Dept.

What does it cost to rent the park?
The rental fee is $45.00 (non-refundable). We accept cash or credit/debit card.
Who should I contact if the bathrooms are locked or if there is an issue with the shelter?

Will I need to provide my own charcoal for the shelter grill?
Yes. You will need to bring charcoal with you for your event.
Can I have a bounce house in Riverside Park?
No. Bounce houses are not allowed due to insurance.
Can I use chalk to write “Happy Birthday” on the shelter wall?
No. You are welcome to hang a sign and decorations, but chalk, markers, etc. cannot be used on the walls, picnic tables or floor of the shelter.
Can I use confetti party poppers at my event?
No. Confetti poppers are not allowed due to the material that is left behind.
How many hours can I rent the shelter?
The shelter is rented for the full day or the length of your party.
What do I do with the trash after my event?
Trash cans are provided at the shelter. Please place all trash in the cans. Our Maintenance Dept. will take care of emptying the cans after your event.
Where will I need to go to sign the rental form and pay the $45.00 fee?
The form and payment can be handled at the Franklinville Town Hall located at 203 W. Main St. between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. On Wednesday, our office closes at 12:00 pm.

How long will you hold my date?
Your date will only be held for three days without payment and signed rental form. It will then be available for rent by other citizens.
