Year of the Trail

On Sunday, January 1st, the Town of Franklinville celebrated the Kick-off of the Year of the Trail! A large crowd of our citizens and trail enthusiasts gathered to hear Mary Joan Pugh, the Randolph County Trail Coordinator, speak on the beginning of the trail system and future improvements and extension of the trail. Franklinville’s Mayor, AC Hurley, welcomed the crowd and invited them to come and enjoy our trail and park at anytime. Several dignitaries were in attendance: CountyCommissioners Hope Haywood and David Allen, Franklinville Commissioners Mac Whatley, Richard Goodwin, and Mayor Pro Tem Priscilla Dunn, and State Trails Coordinator, Smith Raynor. A group picture was taken to commemorate the occasion. Mayor Hurley then lead the group on a walk on the rail trail. The weather turned out perfect for the walk and it was a great NC First Day Outdoors!

Virtual Care Advocate – A Patient Resource Center

TryinTrying to understand Medicare in North Carolina can be overwhelming and oftentimes complicated, especially when plans continue to change and grow. In fact, over 50% of seniors enrolling in Medicare nationally find choosing the right plan confusing, and less than half of beneficiaries say they review or compare Medicare coverage options annually.

As a patient resource center (Note: we do not sell or provide healthcare plans), we’ve made it our mission to tackle these complicated issues by creating an easy-to-read guide empowering those who qualify for Medicare with the knowledge to help them choose the right plan specific to their needs. We compare North Carolina Medicare plans, costs, and most importantly provide local medicare resources to help residents with any questions they may have.

Yard of the Month_June 2022

June 2022 Yard of the Month

The beautiful yard receiving this award is owned by Ann Campbell. Mrs. Campbell has created lovely spaces in her yard where you can find pretty gazing balls, a small cat statue, an old tricycle, and statuary tucked among the landscape. A bench placed in the shade gives the perfect opportunity to watch the birds at the birdhouse. On her front porch, beautiful ferns sway gently above the railing. Lush shrubs and grasses of different shades of green dot the landscape. In the spring, her colorful peonies and roses are in full bloom. She is so kind to share her gorgeous flowers with us at the Town Hall! Thank you, Ann, for your hard work to keep your property looking wonderful in our community!

April 2022 Yard of the Month

Congratulations to Sam and Sherry Jones for having their property selected as Yard of the Month for April! As you can see, a lot of love and hard work goes into their yard! Sherry gives the credit to Sam for their beautiful place. He knows a lot about flowers and plants and has an eye for creating peaceful areas. The yard is full of gorgeous colorful flowers and trees along with a two tiered pool. You can just imagine how peaceful it would be to sit and listen to the trickle of the water! This lovely outside space has so much to offer the senses! Thank you Sam and Sherry for your efforts to make Franklinville a beautiful place to live! Visit our facebook page for more lovely photos.
